First Aired: April 21, 1998 Kero-chan ni Omakase!
While at the aquarium for a school fieldtrip, Sakura is as full of energy as ever. But when she, Tomoyo, Naoko, Chiharu, and Rika are watching the penguin show, one of the penguins and trainer nearly drown! Luckily, Sakura's brother - Touya - was about to feed the penguins as part of his part-time job, and was there to save the little penguin from drowning. (Don't worry. The trainer saved herself.)After arriving home, Sakura tells Kero-chan about the penguin almost drowning. Sakura says the adults said the plug of the pool was pulled - explaining why the penguin and trainer almost drowned - but Sakura felt like there was some other odd sensation or disturbance that triggered the accident. From this, Sakura and Kero-chan come to the conclusion that a Clow Card was behind it. After bringing pancakes to her brother's room where Touya and Yukito were, and after having a "dreamy" moment because Yukito sensed Sakura's presence at the door without her knocking, Kero-chan brings Sakura back to reality. He says the card is probably Watery, a formidable opponent when in water, as it is undetectable in its own realm of water. Capturing a shapeless card like Watery is tough. Not to mention it's one of the four elemental cards - Watery, Windy, Firey and Earthy - the strongest in the deck. On top of it all, Watery is an offensive card, meaning it's awfully aggressive. On the way home from school the next day, Tomoyo gives Sakura two mobile phones from her mom's company - one for Sakura and the other for Kero-chan. Continuing on her way, Sakura nearly rollerblades into Yukito, who catches her before she falls. Yukito wants to take Sakura out for a meal in thanks for the pancakes she made for him. They'll meet at Penguin Park at 1 PM the next day. Needless to say, Sakura is very happy with this. She rushes home and calls Tomoyo on her new phone to tell her the great news! The next day, Sakura meets up with Yukito - who was there 15 minutes early - and they go to the aquarium. Tomoyo and Kero-chan tag along undetected, Tomoyo with her video camera to film Sakura's first date, and Kero-chan to check up on the Clow Card at the aquarium. At the aquarium's tearoom, Touya is now a part-time waiter, as the penguin tanks are under inspection. Yukito comments that his new position must be nicer as he's not in the cold freezer for the penguin food, but Touya says he still has to make snow-cones, so it's basically the same deal. This gets Sakura thinking about snow and ice... when suddenly the huge tank in the middle of the tearoom cracks and water comes gushing out! Sakura's leg is caught in the same swirl of water that almost drowned the penguin and trainer, but Yukito grabs an axe and breaks through a door, releasing enough water for Sakura to surface and breathe. Yukito's snowcones gave Sakura the solution to catching Watery. That night, Sakura, Kero-chan and Tomoyo set themselves up at the aquarium after-hours. Tomoyo finds the freezer in the first floor basement, relaying the message to Sakura using the new mobile phones. Sakura tells Tomoyo to hide, then calls out to Watery, "Watery! Come get me if you can!" Watery emerges from the tank Sakura is at, and pursues Sakura (who is using the Fly card) down hallways, up escalators, and finally down stairs toward the freezer. Sakura uses Windy to lure Watery into the freezer. Sakura quickly shuts the freezer-door on Watery and Windy, who creates a blizzard in the freezer. After just a few seconds, Watery is frozen solid! Sakura then seals Watery back into its card form, making this another job well-done by Card Captor Sakura!
