First Aired: August 11, 1998 Kero-chan ni Omakase!
Kero-chan is complaining about the temperature. It is very hot and since he is not supposed to be seen by anybody he cannot turn on the air conditioner. He then screams very loudly that he wants to go to the beach also. Yukito asks if Sakura is at the house (he and Touya are studying) because he probably he heard a sound (which was Kero-chan complaining). Touya then tells Yukito that Sakura is at outdoor classes. Yukito assumes the noise they heard was something falling off of Sakura's desk. Yukito then thinks about how Sakura should be at the beach already. Sakura is swimming in the ocean watching the fish as she passes them. When she goes to the surface for air, she notices a large cave with rocks. But the cave is not the only thing she notices -- Syaoran is standing there as well. Sakura stares at him for a while but then Syaoran turns around and notices Sakura. He then dives into the water. Sakura then hears Chiharu yelling for her because they are going to play beach volleyball.Sakura responds that she will be right there and starts swimming towards them very steadily. The girls comment that Sakura swims very well and Chiharu impersonates Sakura's happiness about the outdoor classes. Sakura then starts running towards them doing exactly what Chiharu impersonated her doing -- "The beach! The beach! The beach! The beach! The beach!". They start to play beach volleyball while other students are making sand castles or just walking around. Sakura accidentally knocks the ball into the water so she goes to fetch it. When she reaches for the ball, water splashes up at her only to reveal Yamazaki. Yamazaki then starts telling lies about beach volleyball and how people used to play the game with coconuts. He tells Sakura that since coconuts are hard and heavy many people would get injured from playing the game. Sakura exclaims with her infamous "Hoe!!" but Chiharu just explains that Yamazaki is lying. While Chiharu throws the ball at Yamazaki in the background, Sakura and Tomoyo notice Syaoran swimming. Tomoyo says he has been swimming for a very long time and wonders if he is practicing long distance swimming. Again, Yamazaki pops in starting off by telling more lies about long distance swimming. Chiharu then says that he's lying again and drags him away. Their teacher then tells all the students to gather. They are all excited because they are going to be catching fish with a very large net. After some tugging and pulling they succeed and get quite a catch. They then start to cook. Sakura is peeling a potato and the girls say she is very good at it. They then notice Syaoran chopping up lettuce at a very fast speed. Tomoyo says that Sakura can't be losing but Sakura says that it isn't about that. It is now night time and the girls are now in their cabin. They reminisce about the day a little bit and talk about how they enjoyed it. They wonder what they are going to do the next day and they remember that it is the "test of courage". Naoko then pops out of her bed in a spooky manner. She is telling a ghost story that frightens the girls very much (especially Sakura). When Naoko is about to finish her story, Mr. Tarada opens the door and scares all the girls causing them to scream. He tells them they should be going to bed soon. Sakura cannot sleep because she is too scared so she goes to take a walk. While she is taking a walk she feels a hand on her shoulder. She immediately gets frightened and screams. Syaoran asks her what she is doing out (the hand she felt was his). They are sitting on the beach while Syaoran says he sees something in the cave. Sakura is still scared so she says they should talk about something else. Syaoran tells her how he moved from Hong Kong with only 1 person -- Wei, who has been taking care of him sine he was a child -- and not his whole family. After Sakura comments on this he gets up and starts to leave. Sakura chases him and tells him to wait. In the morning, the girls are getting ready. Tomoyo says that Sakura should have woken her up if she was too scared but Sakura says it's okay. They go to sit down where the cave is in plain sight. Sakura looks towards the cave and thinks she sees something. She rubs her eyes to make sure she wasn't just seeing things. Soon it was night time and it was time for the "test of courage". Their teacher tells them what they have to do. All they have to do is form groups of 2 or 3, bring the candle to the shrine, and from there walk back. Children start to head into the cave for their test of courage and Sakura is getting very anxious because it is almost her turn. Of course, Naoko is very excited. While they are walking in the cave, a "ghost" scares Tomoyo and Sakura. Tomoyo points out that it is only their teacher and pulls off the drapes to prove it. Once they reach the bridge they must cross before reaching the shrine, Tomoyo notes that she has not seen any other children pass back to them when they should be. Sakura becomes suspicious also and at that moment they hear a scream. Sakura and Tomoyo run to see what happened. Chiharu and Rika say that Naoko just disappeared in front of their eyes, and then they disappeared also. Sakura and Tomoyo decide they should tell the teachers what happened and run back as fast as possible. Sakura looks back and sees the candle Tomoyo was holding floating in mid air. The candle then drops because Tomoyo has also disappeared. The candle sets the bridge on fire and Sakura just stands there frightened. As Sakura stands there, Syaoran comes running towards her asking if the others had disappeared. He says he was with Yamazaki who had also disappeared. Sakura is still very frightened and has tears in her eyes. Syaoran tells her to focus and Sakura realizes that this is the work of a clow card. Syaoran uses his compass to find the direction of the Clow Card. They determine that it is across the bridge, but since the bridge has been burnt they must find another way across. Sakura then uses the Float card to bring her and Syaoran across. When they reach their destination, Syaoran also starts to disappear. Sakura starts to freak out again but Syaoran tells her she needs to focus again in order to find the exact whereabouts of the card. So Sakura focuses her power and finds out where the card is. She runs to the shrine and opens it. Sakura then seals the card and they find out that it was the Erase card who was erasing people. Sakura offers the card to Syaoran saying that it was his card, but Syaoran says it is rightfully Sakura's. The episode then cuts to the next day with the children sitting on the beach. They all say that they do not remember anything that happened the night before. Tomoyo leans over to Sakura and asks her if it was a Clow Card after all. Sakura nods but notices that Syaoran is standing alone so she goes to talk to him. While they are talking, Chiharu says they are going to play beach volleyball again. Yamazaki has his turn and tells more myths about the winner of beach volleyball having their romantic dreams come true. At this moment, it flashes to a large picture of Yukito with both Sakura and Syaoran admiring him. They then steal the ball from Chiharu and start battling each other with the ball. And that's the end of the episode!
