Cerberus, a golden beast with eyes of gold, is one of the two guardians of the Clow. Cerberus's duty is to watch over the seal of the Book of Clow, and to make sure that the Clow Cards do not create any trouble. It is also responsible to elect a candidate for a Cardcaptor. However, Cerberus fell asleep over the years, since no one beckoned upon and broke the Seal of the book. When Sakura breaks the Seal, Cerberus was unable to immediately react, and elected Sakura as the new Cardcaptor, to get the Clow Cards back. While his true form is a golden beast, his false form is merely a bear-like plush toy with white wings on its back. Cerberus knows the true fate of a Cardcaptor, but tries to help Sakura as much as he can to capture (and later convert) the Clow Cards.
