Finding Fay isn't that hard - just look for the tall and slender man with dazzling blue eyes, right? Well, you're wrong. Fay, short for his full name, Fay D. Flourite, is seemingly a very powerful magician of sorts from the northern and frigid Country of Celes. Fay's definitely very gentle, light-hearted and laid-back.. or so we think.

Fay is actually on the run, and brought himself to the Dimensional Witch, Yuko, to wish for his escape from Celes. He's on the run for a very mysterious reason, as well. In Celes, he's left his creation Chii to her own devices to watch over Ashura, a being Fay sealed before fleeing the country. Who Ashura is and why Fay sealed him is quite a mystery! Nonetheless, Fay is determined not to return to Celes for any reason.

While Fay seems very upbeat and optimistic, Mokona and Kurogane have noticed the darker side of Fay's personality. Fay's resolve to live isn't really much to talk about, nor is what really lies beneath his smile. It seems that Fay's true personality is quite dark and he's even a little afraid, but his almost-seemless facade is keeping the group in the dark - for now, at least.
