Syaoran is the protagonist of TSUBASA. Headstrong and determined, Syaoran has always "set out to do what he has to do." The furthest of Syaoran's memories reach to a low point in his childhood, where he only remembers awakening on the cold streets, alone. A while after, young Syaoran was found by the archeologist Fujitaka and was taken in and adopted. Syaoran slowly grew accustomed to his new family, and during their travels came to Clow Country (several years ago). Here, his father realised a site of great ancient ruins and came to stay in the country until his untimely passing during the excavation. Through his father's works, Syaoran became interested in archeology as well and continued his father's expedition in Clow Country. Soon after Fujitaka and the former King came to know each other, their two youngest children - Syaoran and Sakura, respectively - were introduced. As the dig progressed, the two became great friends and experienced their childhood together. Time passed by, and Syaoran developed feelings of love towards Sakura. Of course, Sakura felt the same, but both felt that their love would be unrequitted. Syaoran felt this uneasiness due to his insecurity in social statuses - how could the Princess of Clow love him, a commoner of all people? Even knowing this, he continued to be Sakura's friend. Because of his love for Sakura, Syaoran was willing to pay any price he could to save her life.. Even if it meant Sakura would forget the one who loved her most. |
