Syaoran exclaims "I beg of you, please save Sakura!" The witch then asks for Sakura and Syaoran's names, and tells Syaoran that Sakura lost some important things, that have taken flight to different worlds. "At this rate, this girl.. will die." The witch also introduces the world they're in as Japan - to which Kurogane quickly reacted to, after introducing himself. Fay also introduces himself to the Witch as a Wizard of Celes. The witch then explains to Syaoran that he must travel through different worlds to search for fragments of Sakura's memory. She then turns to Kurogane and Fay, telling them that their motives - Fay wanting to leave his world, Kurogane wanting to return to his - all take the same steps, which is to travel to different worlds. But they all must give up something precious to them to travel. Kurogane gave up his Silver Dragon Sword; Fay gave up a magical marking on his back. The thing Syaoran has to give up, is his relationship with Sakura -- in other words, even if Syaoran were to find all of her memories, the one she wouldn't remember would be the one of him. Even knowing that, Syaoran accepted the fee.

The witch gave them a travel companion - Mokona Modoki - to enable them to travel through worlds. And with that, they were sucked into a vortex and with a "Puu!" following them, they set off for their first destination. In a crossing dimension, a ball of fire inched near Syaoran and Sakura. The ball approached Syaoran and took form of a fiery beast, saying it's been looking for a worthy master that's looking to protect someone important to them.

Syaoran and the others wake up in a foreign land filled with cramped buildings and busy streets, which is definitely strange to their eyes. But as soon as they figure out where they are, a gang battle emerges! And on top of that, Sakura's feather has just landed in the heart of the combat! Impulsively, Syaoran runs right into the battle to get the feather, with the protection of the beast that approached him in his dream, called a "kudan." After getting the feather, one of the gang leaders, Shougo, finds himself interested in Syaoran, and wants to battle him. It'll be interesting.. because while Syaoran's kudan is of the flame, Shougo's kudan is of water.
