In Clow Country, King Touya is still bedridden. There is a sandstorm surrounding the Clow Ruins, as if protecting what's inside. Touya explains to High Priest Yukito that he always knew Syaoran would decide Sakura's fate. He, at first, was suspicious of Syaoran, and told the late king about it. But he just replied, "Let us believe in the future," while gazing at the Clow Ruins.

Fei Wang Reed watches over the Clow Ruins and muses about the "others" who are watching Syaoran and the group. But Fei Wang Reed has an advantage.

Syaoran and the group all enter a new world, with cute girls to greet them! This new country is called "Outo", while the kanji that make up its name dually mean "Sakura City". The cute girls are the welcoming committee and say that newcomers come from all over to enjoy Outo. They take the group to city hall, where Fay processes everyone in the new country with a made-up alias. The group also sells the clothes from other worlds for a high price and gets a nice house with the money.

In the new house, Mokona can faintly sense Sakura's feather in Outo. But despite how great Outo seems to be, Fay, Kurogane, and Syaoran stay alert while Sakura and Mokona sleep. Suddenly, a giant figure with blood-red eyes plows through a wall of the house and cuts Syaoran's right arm. Syaoran quickly recovers and deals a fatal kick, but Kurogane is already suspicious of something.

Back at city hall, Syaoran is congratulated for having defeated an "oni". Oni are demons that plague Outo, but do not generally attack civilians. The demons' strength depends on the cycle of the moon, where they are strongest near the full moon, and accordingly, oni tend to only come out at nighttime. There are people called "oni hunters" who make a living off of destroying oni. Syaoran and Kurogane decide to become oni hunters, while Fay takes up another kind of job.

Sakura is the waitress at the new "Cat's Eye Café", run by Fay. Mokona sends a present from Yuko of chocolate fondants. Sakura pours Syaoran some tea, who thanks her. Sakura mentions how nice it is to hear Syaoran say that, and how it strangely sounds nostalgic.

Syaoran goes back to a memory where he had been burnt and Fujitaka dressed his wounds. Syaoran said he was sorry for the trouble. Sakura comes in, very concerned for Syaoran. Syaoran also apologizes to her because of her troubled look, but Sakura tells him to try saying something else instead. When Fujitaka comes with tea, Syaoran says, "Thank you."

It's nighttime and Syaoran and Kurogane have traveled to an area where oni are said to appear. Fay has come along to watch the show. Kurogane and Syaoran proceed to kill some oni, but Kurogane reveals that Syaoran is blind in his right eye!
