It's raining and the group is outside speaking to Yuko about their impending journey. She explains that they will encounter many different people in other worlds and should be prepared for the sinister and peculiar. She targets Syaoran in particular, questioning his determination and certainty. Once she receives his assurance, she has Mokona teleport the group. En route, Syaoran reiterates his commitment to Sakura, stating that he will do whatever it takes to save her, even if it means she will never remember him.

Violently awakened by Mokona, Syaoran screams for Sakura and latches onto her cold, unconscious body. Moments later, Fay spots something on Syaoran's body. Frightened at the apparent molestation, Syaoran yelps. From Syaoran's clothing, Fay discovers one of Sakura's feathers! Syaoran is overjoyed. Moments earlier he was embracing the pallid body of Sakura, fearing for her life. But this feather will ensure her survival! To Syaoran this is a magnificent stroke of chance, but Fay adds that Syaoran must've unconciously latched on to the feather to save Sakura.

Now that they have one feather, the group must decide –by way of a unanimous consensus- that they want to go out and hunt for the rest of them. Surely the next feather will not be as simple as checking in their pockets. Mokona mentions that he has the ability to sense the feather's presence, which entices Fay. Stubbornly secluded, a smug Kurogane needs a more significant incentive. Once again, Mokona provides one: help the group or you won't be going anywhere. Kurogane is convinced.

Just as the group decides they are all in on the search, a young man and woman enter the room with a bowl of food and drinks. The man, the wild Arisugawa Sorata, introduces himself and his adored wife Arashi. He gleefully warns the group not to flirt with his beautiful Arashi but that they are free to etch the image of her face in their minds. After getting acquainted, the subject of their whereabouts comes up. Arisugawa cheerfully informs them that they are in a happy world known as the Republic of Hansin as he whips open a door to reveal a bustling city filled with images of tigers and a gigantic clock tower.
