Syaoran returns to Sorata's house, declaring he found one of Sakura's feathers. They rush into the house and present the feather to Sakura's body, urging her to wake up. Syaoran recalls the time when Sakura was ill once again. Sakura wanted Syaoran to take hold of her hand and to be the first person she saw when she awoke. Syaoran, scarred from battle, takes Sakura's hand in his own. Moments later, she opens her eyes.
"Who are you?" Sakura blankly asks. Syaoran slowly opens his hands, letting her hands slip from his grasp. "I'm Syaoran, and you're Princess Sakura," he reminds her. He explains she is missing her memories and that they're questing to locate them. Sakura is very confused about her situation. She doesn't remember Syaoran and doesn't realize who she is. Fay puts a hand on Syaoran's shoulder, signifying that he ought to stop trying to remind her. Fay then introduces himself, Kurogane and Mokona to Sakura.
Syaoran, greatly saddened that Sakura does not remember him, walks out of the room and into the rain. Sakura plays with Mokona and then questions who held her hand so caringly while she was asleep. For a moment, Fay and Kurogane thought Syaoran was going to cry after Sakura didn't recognize him, but he kept himself together.
Somewhere else, two people talk of the progress Syaoran is making with Sakura's feathers. It seems these two have the intent to meddle with the group's journey.
