Having escaped Kiishimu, Syaoran is now confronted with the Ryanban's son. The former chubby oaf flexes his muscles, which then bulge and become too large for his shirt to handle. A muscularly monstrous man now stands before Syaoran, shouting that he will smash Syaoran to his grave. Apparently these muscles are the result of the Ryanban's secret arts. Syaoran swiftly dodges the first blow, angering his brawny foe.

Back in the bubbly cavern, Fay and Kurogane stand on a pillar before Kiishimu. Kurogane quickly strikes Fay out of the way of a massive bubble. Kiishimu says that the only person to endure her onslaught for this long was a powerful Shinban. Kurogane and Fay come to understand she must be speaking of Chunyan's mother. Kiishimu suggests that Koriyo needs more people like the Chunyan's mother and Kurogane and Fay, and less like the foolish Ryanban and his son. Unfortunately, she cannot do anything about that, as she is enthralled to the Ryanban. Concluding her discourse by apologetically ensuring Fay and Kurogane's demise, Kiishimu then summons a gigantic tsunami. In response, Kurogane dashes at Kiishimu, ready to attack face-to-face!

Things aren't looking too great for Syaoran. Mokona pleads for him to get up, but he is still jammed deep within a wall. The Ryanban's son grabs Mokona and asks if Syaoran is the Amenosa. Syaoran does not respond. Infuriated, the Ryanban's son motions to smash Mokona into the ground. This prompts Syaoran to, yet again, dropkick the bulky oaf. Syaoran is then lifted by his foot wounded by Kiishimu's acid. The Ryanban's son inquires about his injury, suggesting that Syaoran can't fight while protecting his wounded foot. In response, Syaoran swirls and effectively beats the oaf into submission.

Meanwhile, Kurogane is literally face-to-face with Kiishimu. She pieces into his shirt with her long, sharp fingernails, but only manages to claw out a thick magazine concealed within the cloth. Kurogane then uses his cane and strikes Kiishimu on the head, shattering a jewel on her headpiece. The Ryanban, still watching the fights, sees that his Kiishimu is receiving a whooping. In disgust, he uses his magic sphere to overlook his son's fight. However, just as an image begins to appear, the sphere cracks. Cursing at Syaoran's success, the Ryanban swears he will not make it out of the palace alive.

Kurogane now finds himself even closer to Kiishimu, as she is kissing him on the cheek. Apparently the jewel that he shattered when he hit her on the head was the key to the Ryanban's control over her. She is now free from his control and willing to lead them to the Ryanban!

Syaoran runs with Mokona and locates the point where the Ryanban's power feels the strongest. Syaoran pushes open two gigantic doors, revealing a large ball acting as a prison for Sakura and Chunyan. This spherical prison dangles above none other than a smug Ryanban holding up the cracked orb containing Sakura's feather. Syaoran demands he release Sakura and Chunyan. Naturally, the Ryanban denies his request. Syaoran then makes a move at the Ryanban, who shocks Sakura and Chunyan. "Touch one finger upon me and the two of them die!" the Ryanban defiantly shouts. He then fills the room with people yielding weapons, saying he has taken control of the townspeople and will use them against Syaoran. Would Syaoran kill the townspeople? And how can he protect Sakura and Chunyan while battling the Ryanban? Tsubasa's longest chapitre thus far ends on a cliffhanger.
